Alejandro Forteza

In 1918, Alejandro Forteza opened the doors of the jewellery shop, which, today, is one of the few remaining workshops dedicated to the production and repair of traditional antique and contemporary Mallorcan jewellery. Currently, the establishment is run by Francisco Bonet and his son of the same name, who use it as a base to carry out their profession and serve their “lifelong” customers.

The blue-lit shop window displays different styles of hand-crafted pieces, all carefully made by the expert jewellers who work there.

The façade still has its marble sign and the stained glass windows on either side of the entrance door, which act as an exterior display. Inside the establishment, the space is divided into a sales room and a workshop. The furniture and interior structure of the store have an old-fashioned feel. Of particular note are the glass shelves used to display the jewellery.

Located close to the Costa d’en Brossa stairway, in a street that bears the name of one of the most important families of the Mallorcan nobility, the jewellery shop is a vestige of one of the artisan trades that can still be found in the city today.
