Bodega Oliver Moragues
The Oliver Moragues Winery is in the Possessió Binicomprat, one of the oldest and most representative on the island of Mallorca, which is already mentioned in the Llibre del Repartiment de Jaume I of 1229. In fact, the house is a protected asset and is listed by Heritage as an architectural element of historical interest.
The family acquired the property in 1511, and fifteen generations have maintained it uninterruptedly until today. For centuries, the house and the entire estate have been dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine of local varieties that was sold mainly in Algaida and Consell.
In the middle of the 20th century, Gabriel Oliver Ribes de Pina consolidated and modernised the cellars and improved the wine making process. It was not until 1998 when the current family moved from selling wine in bulk to bottling, giving the wine its name with the family surname Oliver Moragues. They belong to the Vi de la Terra Mallorca appellation and have other labels such as organic and Vegan Wines.
Currently, four representatives of the last generation of the family run the business: Carlos Cabeza Oliver is the oenologist, and his sister Rocío oversees the reception and customer service. Biel Oliver Ramon manages the administrative side of the business, and his brother Toni manages the vineyards.
Wine sales continue to be the main source of income. They have a point of sale open to the public located in the main building where customers and visitors can buy the wines. They also offer guided tours of the house, the vineyards, and the cellars and conduct wine tastings by appointment.
