Bodegas José L. Ferrer

Bodegas José L. Ferrer is a family business founded in 1931 by José Luis Ferrer and a pioneer on the island in the ageing in oak barrels and bottling of quality wines, based on the Manto Negro variety. Its founder continued to innovate in the fifties, producing white wines with the native Moll variety, as well as starting to export the wines. Today the winery is still run by the family, specifically by the fourth generation, with María, Pep and Óscar Roses Lambourne at the helm.

José L. Ferrer not only belongs to the Binissalem-Mallorca Denomination of Origin, but its founder was one of the driving forces behind this Denomination of Origin, and his grandchildren were the founders. They are always committed to quality and singularity, which make their wines unique and authentic. They have won a considerable number of awards and recognitions.

The 130 hectares of their own vineyards combine traditional methods with the results of very advanced studies on optimising irrigation and treatments to obtain grapes of the highest quality which form the basis of the wines. In 2023 these vineyards owned by the winery have been certified as ecological and since 2013 they use solar energy for their wines production.

They make different ranges of Denominació d’Origen Binissalem wines: the traditional José L. Ferrer, the modern Veritas and the organic Pedra de Binissalem. All of them are a clear example of the typicality conferred by the local grape varieties, the climate, and the soils of the region. The winery has an area dedicated to sales, where you can buy the wines they produce. They also offer visits and different tastings of their wines.
