Calçats Salleras
At the head of Calçats Salleras is Tomeu, one of the few remaining artisan shoemakers in Mallorca. He was introduced to the trade by his brother when he finished his studies at the age of 14. Previously, the workshop was located elsewhere, but for the last forty years it has been in the centre of the village.
Tomeu Salleras creates personalised footwear for clients with special needs that adapts to all types of feet, sizes and clothing. They also make traditional Balearic shoes with quality leathers and materials, for example, porqueres as everyday footwear or abarcas for the summer, as well as ankle boots. He makes them in his workshop using only his hands and sixty years of experience in the world of footwear.
In the workshop you can find any type of leather, from the most traditional to the most innovative and peculiar, leftover leather and offcuts that he has been able to obtain from the most prestigious factories in Mallorca.
He has a large clientele of residents and visitors to the island, both natives and foreigners. His work is well known in Germany, where he has had some articles published in German magazines.
