Can Botella · Milar

The history of Can Botella began in 1954 when José Juan Botella and Catalina Durán decided to open a shop at 32, Carrer Major, under the name of Casa Botella. Shortly afterwards they extended the establishment to number 34 in the same street. The products they sold were chairs, lamps, clocks, oil cookers, children’s items such as prams, cots, etc. Gradually, they expanded the range of products, introducing electrical appliances and also more furniture products, such as tables, beds and wardrobes, among others.

Around 1990, in the hands of the founders’ godson, Andreu Pascual Durán, the shop was extended again towards Carrer de la Batlessa, 25, turning the corner of Carrer Major, so that there were two entrances to the shop, one on each street, and the products were distributed in the following way: furniture in one part and electrical appliances and household goods in the other part.

The shop is currently run by Andreu’s two children, Antònia and Joan Andreu Pascual, who represent the third generation of the family, and continue to sell electrical appliances, household goods and furniture.

From the beginnings of the shop, they still have a very old staircase with a banister that connects the ground floor with the first and first floors and also a lamp that has always hung in the stairwell.
