Can Gelabert

In 1951, when the Mercado del Olivar in Palma was inaugurated, Miquel Gelabert Riera set up a stall dedicated to the sale of fruit and nuts. Aina Cristina Muñoz began working with her mother-in-law, Francisca Cardona, who was the founder’s daughter-in-law, until she retired. Then, in 2003, she took over the business when it was divided into two family branches and she continued selling nuts.

Aina Cristina continues to run the market stall today. She shares a passion for the business, and, beyond the quality of the products, she stands out for offering a friendly and attentive service to customers, many of whom already shopped there in her mother-in-law’s day.

Can Gelabert currently offers a wide variety of products such as nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, figs, dates, etc.), candied and dehydrated fruit, sweets, candies, honey, jams and traditional Easter sugared almonds, as well as nougat. They also sell spices and other bulk products, many of which are handmade and typical of Mallorca.

It is a long-standing shop with a traditional and welcoming image, committed to quality and tradition.
