Carnisseria Campins

The history of this butcher’s shop began in 1948, when Rafel Campins and Margarita Riutort, grandparents of the current owners, had a wine cellar which they decided to change for a butcher’s shop located in Gil Street. This is the origin of the nickname Can Bodego by which they are known in the village.

In the butcher’s shop they used to make their own handmade products, such as sobrassada, camallot, botifarrons, etc. Later the business moved to Carrer de Maura, now Carrer de Els Bous, and a few years later, the children of the founders took over: Rafel (with his wife Rosa), Catalina and Jaume.

In 1977 they opened a new establishment in Carrer de El Bisbe and built a bakery in Carrer del Dr. Rafel Rotger i Mestre to make their products. This is where the third generation, formed by Joan and Rafel Campins, who are still running the business, started to work.

Recently the butcher’s shop has moved to the workshop, where they continue to produce and sell their own products to continue the family tradition.
