Cas Sagristà

The great-grandfather of Joan Llaneres, the current owner, decided to open the business in 1941. In the beginning, the establishment was only dedicated to the manufacture and sale of tiles.  Joan says that his great-grandfather probably learned the tile-making trade when, as a young man, he emigrated to America due to the socio-political situation in Spain at that time.

Over the years, the range of products was replaced and expanded. The second generation of the family began to sell building materials in addition to tiles. And year after year, both the third and the current fourth generation have introduced more products and services. Today, their offer comprises five main sections: paints, swimming pools, fireplaces, parquet tiles, DIY gardening. In addition, they also offer a free advice service at home, treatment and protection for wood, iron and damp, and colours on demand and on the spot, thanks to a colour manufacturing machine for paints.

The name of the establishment refers to the nickname of the founder’s family, which is why from the beginning the people of the municipality referred to the shop as Cas Sagristà. As a curiosity, it can be said that it was the first construction warehouse in the entire Llevant region.

None of the original furniture has been preserved, but there are still some tiles on the façade at the back of the establishment that date from when the first owner started the business.
