Casa Martí

Toni Martí Font was a guitar teacher, as well as one of the founders of Trío Armónico, together with the brothers Guillem and Rafel Perelló. From the 1960s onwards, he found himself with a lack of guitar supplies for his students and, thanks to his liking for business, in 1964 he decided to open the establishment, which was the first music shop in the town and in the Levante region. Many people also travelled from Palma to buy at Casa Martí in Manacor.

From the very beginning, they began to supply the music groups of the 60s and 70s that played in the hotels, such as Los Amigos, Llorenç Santamaria and Tomeu Peña, who was a student and friend of Toni Martí. They were also regulars at Casa Martí Rocks Day, Jaume Estelrich de Tots Sants, Els Ocults and a long etcetera.

In 1981, they expanded the business with an establishment in Palma, where Toni’s children Andreu, Maria Antònia and Martí worked, specialising in piano tuning. In 2002, they opened another shop in Ibiza and, in 2007, in Mahón.

They have a collection of string instruments, such as guitars from the end of the 19th century, a guitarró femella (little guitar) and one of the first banjos they ordered for the shop.
