Charcutería Selecta Izquierdo

In 1950, Fausto Izquierdo and Maria Tarongí opened a delicatessen in the Santa Catalina Market, which, over the years, has become a leading business specialising in quality artisan meat and dairy products.

Around 1960, Virgilio Izquierdo Tarongí, the only son of the founding couple, began working in the family business when his father fell ill. Over time, he joined the business permanently and took over its management. With the growth of the delicatessen around the year 2000, they hired external staff to help them with their daily tasks.

Today, the third generation of the family, represented by María Izquierdo and her husband Juan José Sánchez, is at the helm of the delicatessen, contributing to its continuity and maintaining its family character.

The business is still located in its original premises. It has a carefully designed and attractive exterior, with signs bearing the name and logo of the business, giving the establishment its own identity with a modern aesthetic that reflects the balance between tradition and modernity.

Its specialities are acorn-fed Iberian hams, national and international cheeses, Iberian and smoked cheeses, and foie gras. It offers services such as vacuum-packed ham cutting, home delivery, and the preparation of platters for special occasions.
