Comercial Tejidos

In 1942, Maria Esteva Pons and Gaspar Forteza Fuster founded the shop Comercial Tejidos. Gaspar Forteza came from a family of weavers and knew the business well. At first, the shop focused on tailoring, design and women’s fashion. But it later began to sell all kinds of fabrics, and has specialised in the sale of textiles for decoration and the production of a few small handmade articles.

The shop opened two months after the birth of the couple’s only child. Maria Margalida Forteza, third generation of the family and current owner, recalls that Maria Esteva always said that, funnily enough, they had not been able to take maternity or paternity leave. The founders lived above the shop.

 Sa Comercial is well known throughout the Levante region.
