Crestaig Carns i Embotits Artesans

Crestaig. Carns i Embotits Artesans is a family business located in Sa Pobla since 1963, where they have been making handmade products from Mallorca. Its main product is sobrassada, as well as botifarrons, camallot, etc.

Three generations have run the butcher’s shop since Tocinería Caldés, as it used to be known. Antoni Caldés Mir and Francisca Cladera Crespí were the founders of the butcher’s shop. Then their daughter Joana Caldés Cladera and her husband Antoni Pons Ferragut took over in 1980, when the butcher’s shop began to take on a new dimension. In 1982 they had to expand and modernise the facilities, and at that time they took the opportunity to change the name. Years later, his son and current owner, Antoni Pons Caldés, took over the business. He produces the typical artisan sausages of the islands and aims to offer his customers the highest quality at all times.

Sobrasada is made with pork and bacon, salt and paprika. It is the most appreciated of the Mallorcan sausages. It is cured for 6 to 12 weeks. Its sobrasadas are distinguished by the careful hand-stitching at each end and by their binding. All the sausages made at the Crestaig charcuterie butcher’s can be recognised by the white and red thread, the white identifying the sweet product and the red the spicy one.

In addition to their own sausage production, they offer their customers a selection of meats and premium meats of the highest quality.
