Embutidos Ferriol

Amador Ferriol Jordà was an animal merchant who in 1954 founded this small, artisan, family-run business, from which it takes its name. It is currently run and managed by his grandson, Antonio Amador Matas Ferriol. His mother, Antònia Ferriol, has a master craftsman’s certificate awarded by the Government of the Balearic Islands, and he is awaiting accreditation as a craftsman.

Embotits Ferriol has the Sobrasada de Mallorca Protected Geographical Indication label. Sineu, located in the centre of the island, due to its climate, allows an excellent natural maturation of the sausages. They take great care over the quality of their products, as they use local pigs from their own farm and carefully selected paprika, which gives the sobrasada an exquisite flavour. The products they make are: sobrasada, longaniza, botifarrons, varia or botifarra, culanes, pultrús and camallot.

As a curiosity, it is worth mentioning that Embotits Ferriol has had families who have worked there for several generations, first their mothers, then their children and now their grandchildren, and who have contributed to the continuity of this family business.

Direct sales to the public are made in a space set up in the same factory where the sausages are made, and its facilities are approved by the European Economic Community.
