Esparteria i Calçats Can Pedro

It all began around 1936, when the godmother of the mother of Pedro Femenia, the current owner, ran this esparto shop, which was the first one in Sa Pobla. It was dedicated to stringing chairs, baskets, espadrilles? Everything for the people who went to the marshes to farm at that time in S’Albufera.

As the aunt had no children, Pedro’s mother, Jerònia Caldés, inherited the esparto shop and so continued with the business. Pedro grew up in the shop, and it was at a very young age, he remembers he was 15 years old, when he started working alongside his mother.

Pedro, the third generation of the family to run the shop, now runs the shoe shop, which has adapted to the fashion and customs of today, where they offer both comfortable or sports shoes, as well as more dressy ones. Even so, in the Esparteria i Calçats Can Pedro you can still find those pairs of shoes and espadrilles, as well as the typical bags for going to the market, which are still in demand from time to time.
