In 1968 Gabriel Perelló and his wife Francisca Boyeras set up a shop at the front of the family home where they lived, on Carrer d’Antoni Cànoves. They started out selling perfumes, gifts and wool. A few years later they moved and opened a new shop on Carrer de Joan Carles I, where we can still find them today.

Fils is a unique shop in Muro, where you can find all your sewing accessories, as it sells knitwear and haberdashery, needles, sewing and embroidery threads, crochet hooks, chair straps, macramé, embroidery, etc. In the past, it also had an area for children’s products such as clothes, furniture and prams. In addition, shortly before Christmas they had toys for the little ones.

The establishment is a long and very wide space with different areas. In the entrance area there is the shop window and a display unit with compartments where the wool is displayed. The second area is the haberdashery area where there are buttons, needles, elastic, zips, etc.; the repertoire is endless, there are also pyjamas and baskets. Then there is the area dedicated to the workshop. Here, interested customers go to ask questions about the work they are doing. They also take the opportunity to stay and chat and sometimes celebrate, making it a meeting point for the village.

Currently, chair-stringing and macramé workshops are held three days a week.
