Floristería Abolengo

Around 1930, Margarita Frau Carrión, the grandmother of the current owners, opened a stall along the avenues of Palma, near the crossroads between Carrer de El Sindicat and Carrer de Manacor, an area where at that time there was a market where vegetables, animals and flowers were sold.

In 1945, Margarita’s daughter, Magdalena Bibiloni Frau, began to work in a stall in the Plaça Major, where the florists of the time were traditionally located. In the 1970s, the Town Hall moved them to the Rambla and it was at this time that the current owners, Joana and Margalida Noguera Bibiloni, took over the business, while their mother occupied a stall in the Plaça de l’Olivar.

In December 1999, the two sisters opened a shop on Avinguda Gabriel Alomar and kept the stall on the Rambla until 2002.

Up to three generations of the Frau family have worked in the florist sector, with more than seventy years of history, witnessing the changes that the city has undergone in terms of the organisation of commercial activity.
