Forn i Pastisseria Can Moroto
Can Moroto is located on Santa Anna street, in the heart of the town and on one of the busiest streets in Muro. For the locals it is the place to go for their daily bread, sweet and savoury pastries and other typical Mallorcan products.
This bakery opened its doors in 1985 thanks to Miquel Ramis, who was linked to the sector, as his brothers were bakers. Today, Isabel Ramis Cabrera has taken over the business to follow in her father’s footsteps at the helm of the bakery.
Their products are made using traditional methods, using traditional equipment and old recipes, thus keeping Mallorcan gastronomic culture alive.
At Can Moroto we can find a wide variety of products and they are members of the ‘Pan de aquí, horno y tradición’ (Bread from here, oven and tradition) brand, which distinguishes establishments with a bakery that make the different types of bread from the Balearic Islands. Their speciality is brown and white farmhouse bread, as well as all kinds of traditional pastries such as empanadas (panades), cocarrois and different coca types, which can be made with natural apricot, sobrassada, cream and apple. In addition, the plain or filled ensaimadas are highly valued by their customers.
Depending on the season and the festivities, they also make potato cocas, sobrasada and squash ensaimadas, trempó ensaimadas, vegetable and pepper ensaimadas, spinach ensaimadas, Twelfth Night cakes, rubiols and homemade muffins.
