Forn La Mallorquina

La Mallorquina is located on the ground floor of the emblematic modernist-style building Villa Juana, in Les Avingudes, one of the first to be built after the demolition of the city walls. Since its origins, the establishment has been characterised as a family business that is committed to quality, tradition and customer service.

In 1918, Antònia Vila opened the bakery on the site where it stands today, having previously been the owner of the now defunct La Virreina bakery, in one of the ground floors of the Teatre Principal. That year she moved and gave the bakery its current name.

Antònia Vila was succeeded by her daughter Catalina and her grandson Joan. From 2008 to the present day, the bakery has been in the hands of sisters Vanessa and Lara Cirer, who represent the fourth generation of bakers.

Today, the shop’s star product is the ensaimadas, along with other traditional pastries and more than thirty varieties of cakes that are sold in the brand’s three bakeries.
