Fruiteria Miquel Gelabert

After working in fruit sales, Miquel Gelabert Riera set up shop in the Olivar Market in 1951 with the help of his son Miquel Gelabert Deyá and his daughter-in-law Francisca Cardona Torres.

With the renovation of the market and the renewal of the concession in 2003, the business was divided into two family branches: one managed by Miquel Gelabert (son), who continues to sell fresh fruit, and the other dedicated to the sale of nuts, run by Ana Cristina Muñoz, wife of his other son, Francisco Gelabert.

The stall is currently run by the third generation of the family, with Miquel Gelabert Cardona and María José Planas at the helm. They offer a wide range of fruit, vegetables and seasonal produce, sourced mainly from wholesale distributors.

They are committed to quality and providing friendly service to their customers, maintaining their long-standing customers as well as regular visitors. They collaborate with social organisations, have quality seals and maintain an innovative spirit committed to tradition. The family has always emphasised the importance of customer relations and the fundamental role of the market in the life of the city.
