Gelats Ca’n Miquel

Ca’n Miquel is one of the best known artisan ice-cream parlours in the centre of Palma. It has a hundred different flavours, both sweet and savoury, made with 100% local ingredients, always following an artisan tradition that has survived through time and passed to the third generation. It stands out for its great variety of flavours and, among these, the different types of chocolate. The quality of these products has made it one of the city’s leading ice cream parlours.

Miquel Solivellas Vallori opened the ice cream parlour on Avinguda de Jaume III in 1979 and brought to it his own distinctive touch, which was always at the forefront in terms of tastes and textures. The founder taught himself to be an ice-cream maker, initially making ice-cream with fruit, water and sugar. He was an innovator in the production of savoury ice creams, such as olive oil and Mahon cheese.

In 2011, he opened a new premises on Carrer de Montcades, its current location, and in 2015 he closed the original establishment on Avinguda de Jaume III.

Maria Teresa Solivellas and Marian Valero, Miquel’s daughter and granddaughter, respectively, are the next generation to take over this ice cream parlour, which was born out of the founder’s drive and eagerness to make a highly regarded and award-winning artisan ice cream.
