Joieria Vives

Towards the 1920s, the Vives jewellers’ shop opened its doors to the public in the premises located at Carrer Nou, 15. Five years later, it moved to number 29 of the same street, where it continues to serve its clientele today.

The famous painter Joan Vives Llull was the founder of the establishment, together with his wife, Antònia Campomar. Vives Llull alternated his work in this business with his work as a painter, which eventually brought him a great deal of recognition.

The couple’s youngest son, Joan Vives Campomar, took over the family business in the 1970s, together with Agnès Riera, his wife. Joan added his great love of travelling and learning about new cultures to the knowledge passed down from his parents, which gave Vives jewellery a cosmopolitan and international air, breaking with the more classical concept of jewellery.

Currently, Joan Vives Riera, third generation and nephew of Joan Vives and Agnès Riera, is in charge of the business, and continues with the family legacy of combining the more classic style pieces with more ethnic collections.

Notably, the jewellery shop retains its original shop window and entrance.
