Joyas Forteza
In 1885, Lluís Forteza opened his own establishment in Carrer de Colom after leaving the jeweller’s workshop where he worked. He connected with Palma’s bourgeois society and built up an important clientele that would help him boost the business. In those days, Joyas Forteza had a shop and workshop, which offered a new product, with styles imported from Europe. In 1900 his son Mateo Forteza took over the running of the business until the 1940s, when the father of the current owner took over.
In 2001, Lluís Forteza took over the business to the present day, becoming the fourth generation of the family tradition. He continues to work on traditional Mallorcan jewellery, outsourcing the workshop work and adding new trends. They specialise in a comprehensive jewellery service: maintenance, reconstruction, repair and restoration. They stand out for their great variety of pearls and diamonds.
Lluís is proud of the fact that his establishment has overcome all the periods of crisis such as the Civil War, the two world wars, the crisis of 1929 and the crisis of the last decade, and continues to strive with enthusiasm thanks to the trust and loyalty of his clientele.
