The history of this shop goes back to when Antoni Garí Nicolau, grandfather of the current owner, went to Barcelona to study tailoring. He returned to Porreres around 1946 and took up the trade, initially working from his parents’ house. As time went by, he made a name for himself in the village and the region, since he had a more modern design, as well as suppliers of fabrics from Mallorca and abroad that made his work more attractive. Years later he was able to buy a premises for the workshop and the tailor’s shop, which had more than 25 stitchers, where the shop can still be found to this day.

Pereta Garí Veny, the founder’s daughter, grew up in the workshop among threads, scissors, scraps, fabrics and patterns for jackets, where her mother, Maria Veny, also worked as a seamstress. Between the 1970s and 1980s, they noticed a big change when ready-made clothes came into the trade, a period in which they took over the business.

In 1997, Antoni Ribas Garí, Pereta’s son and grandson of the tailor, decided to continue with the family business, carrying out a major refurbishment and enlargement of the shop. He introduced large shop windows with mannequins and other product lines such as men’s and women’s shoes, women’s clothing, accessories, etc. The business has won several awards such as prizes for window dressing, interior design, among others.

The establishment has been able to adapt to changes in fashion, trends and brands. Today, they continue to offer quality clothing from leading national and international brands in different styles of clothing, casual and sportswear, footwear and accessories for both women and men. All of which comes with the added value of personal advice for the customer.
