Marisa

Marisa is a business with almost eighty years of history that has passed through two generations of the family. In 1942, the founder of the establishment, Maria Rotger Juan, known as Marisa, decided to open what would eventually become the reference shop for leather goods and fashion accessories. Her descendants remember her as “a very stylish woman, very attentive to fashion and one of the few who travelled to Barcelona to look for fabrics, which she then sold by the metre”, as well as being one of the first dressmakers in Maó. She was widowed at a young age, had no children and handed over the family business to Esperanza Fuentes Garriga, her great-niece. Esperanza currently maintains the ownership of the business and has delegated the management to the third generation, her daughters Maria Paz and Conchi Santa María Fuentes.

Ca na Marisa’s activity began with the design, manufacture and sale of clothing and the dispatch of fabrics. Later, perfumes, jewellery, fashion accessories and leather goods were introduced and are now the company’s core business. We can find leather accessories made in Spain such as handbags, wallets, belts, briefcases and travel bags, as well as umbrellas and fans.

The decoration of the façade of the building where the shop is located, designed by the architect Josep Claret, is particularly noteworthy.
