Olleria Cas Canonge

Ollería Cas Canonge is an craft company and one of the youngest potteries in Pòrtol. Recently, the street where it is located was named Olleria.

It was founded in January 1981 by brothers Bartomeu and Bernat Amengual Reynés, who are master potters and sculptors, respectively. They are descendants of several generations of potters and learned the trade from their father, Bernat Amengual Serra, also the son and grandson of potters from the Sa Penya pottery. They are, therefore, the fourth generation of the family.

The greixoneres (casseroles) and earthenware pots that they make in the traditional way are of excellent quality, both for cooking over a wood fire and for gas and vitro-ceramic cookers. Over the years, they have continued to work with earthenware, creating items for everyday use, from more traditional pieces to more modern designs, while maintaining the natural essence.

Cas Canonge and Can Vent are the only two potteries in Pòrtol that use the earth from the old Can Vic quarry to make pots and greixoneres.

The Amengual brothers go regularly to the weekly market in Inca and Sineu. They participate every year in the Marratxí Pottery Fair and attend most of the traditional fairs in Mallorca.
