Papereria Adrover

Papereria Adrover is an emblematic establishment in the centre of Campos that has been serving the residents of the town for more than nine decades, offering school and office material, books, toys, newspapers, and other services related to stationery.

In 1926, Miquel Adrover Vidal set up the first bookshop and stationery shop on the ground floor of the Banco del Progreso Agrícola, where he worked as a caretaker. At that time, they also sold groceries. Shortly afterwards, Miquel married Llucia Ginard Picornell, from Can Carol, who took over the business in 1932 when she was widowed.

In 1958, his son Miquel Adrover Ginard set up the Imprenta Adrover in his grandparents’ house in Carrer d’Antelm Obrador, using handmade printing machines for his work. A year later, his mother’s stationery shop also moved to the same premises, combining stationery and graphic arts. Miquel managed the business with his wife Maria Cirer.

Llucia Adrover Cirer took over the stationery shop in 1994 when her parents retired and continues to run the business today. Like her grandmother, she is another enterprising woman in the family who runs the shop, always with the help of her man, Llorenç Oliver.

In 2000, the third generation of Adrovers divided the business into printing and stationery. Sebastià Pere Adrover Cirer installs and modernises the printing shop in another establishment and his sister Llucia remains in the stationery shop as the owner.

The foundations of the building are made of Binissalem stone and the façade dates from the first decade of the 20th century. Both the main entrance and the shop window have unique stone mouldings from Son Garau.
