Pastisseria Bonanza
Pastisseria Bonanza was opened in 1978 by Magdalena Vanrell and Guillem Santandreu in Carrer de Castilla. However, the business started 10 years ago, in 1968, with a van selling ice cream around the island. In fact, this vehicle, so characteristic of the shop, is still in use at the Es Canar hippy market in Eivissa, the most genuine and largest on the island.
Since 2001 the children of the founders, Baltasar and Antònia Santandreu, have run the bakery. Later, Maruja, Baltasar’s wife, and Toni, Antònia’s husband, joined them.
All their products are handmade. Among them are the typical products of Ibiza’s bakeries and pastry shops, such as flaó, ensaimadas, cocas and empanadas. One of the most typical products they offer are the oil biscuits, which are one of the first specialities they made. In 2019 they received the award for bakers of the year, an award that recognises artisan work and quality products.
They are members of the Pa d’aquí, Forn i Tradició brand, which distinguishes establishments with a bakery that make the different types of bread from the Balearic Islands.
