Rellotgeria Brújula

Rellotgeria Brújula opened its doors in 1952, when Gabriel Julià Pou started his business in Carrer de Miquel Bordoy in Felanitx, where it still is today. It is dedicated to the sale and repair of watches and jewellery, as well as the manufacture of personalised jewellery in its own workshop. It is worth mentioning that its founder learned the watchmaking trade by correspondence, at the Academia Técnica la Brújula, in San Sebastián, from which the establishment took its name.

At the age of 13, Toni Julià began to learn the trade taught to him by his father, and currently holds the Mestre Artesà Charter awarded by the Balearic Government. In 2012 his son, Gabriel Julià, took over from his father and joined the business, where they work side by side with his mother Catalina Adrover.

It should be noted that they specialise in the restoration and maintenance of monumental clocks in town halls and churches, such as the one in Felanitx Town Hall, which was built in 1878. Among other works, they have restored the clock of the Palma Town Hall in Figuera, and the clocks of other municipalities such as Alaró, Ses Salines, Montuïri, Llucmajor, etc.

The premises still preserve a spiral staircase that communicates with the upper floor and the balcony, with a glass window that is very characteristic of this street.
