Vins Can Verdura

The origins of Ca’n Verdura go back six generations, working and cultivating the vineyards of Binissalem between possessions and cellars, which for centuries have surrounded the wine-growing village par excellence of the island of Mallorca. Ca’n Verdura is committed to producing wines from Binissalem with Mallorcan character, with native varieties such as Manto negro, Callet, Moll, Giró Ros and Escursac.

This winery wants to break the trend of recent years in viticulture of introducing varieties from other areas to the detriment of the autochthonous varieties. Ca’n Verdura wants to demonstrate that Manto Negro can produce wines with great representativeness and personality.

In 2012 Ca’n Verdura opened its doors in an old garage in the centre of the village, although the adventure had begun two years earlier using the Manto Negro grape from the grandfather’s estate. With its own winery in s’Era Street in Binissalem, the Ca’n Verdura family of wines began to be made, using modern winemaking methods, and always seeking the local viticultural nuances.

Tomeu Llabrés is currently at the helm of Ca’n Verdura and, unlike his father and grandfather, he has taken the step into winemaking, as his family was mainly dedicated to growing vines and did not make wine; this is where Ca’n Verdura Viticultors began, an adventure based on the premise of using mainly local varieties, especially Manto Negro and Moll.

Ca’n Verdura maintains the original essence, the character, and the family tradition, while at the same time adapting to the demands of each vintage.
