Vins Ripoll

The history of Vins Ripoll dates to 1925 when Jaume Ripoll, who was a farmer, decided to start making wine in an old cellar he rented in the centre of Binissalem. He bought the grapes and made the blend himself and distributed the wines in bulk throughout the village.

Years later, Pau Ripoll took over the family business started by his father. Pau expanded the business, buying grapes from the Felanitx Cooperative, called Es Sindicat, as at that time almost all the grapes in Mallorca were sold there, to make and sell his own wine all over the island.

Today, Jaume Ripoll, the third generation of the family, runs the business. They have two wineries: one belongs to the Vi de la Terra Mallorca appellation, where they make wine from their own vineyards, located on the outskirts of Binissalem, with the Ses Roques line. They have started with a small but high-quality production, focused on the organic production in which they firmly believe.

In the other bodega they continue with the distribution of bulk wine and bottled wine from other wine regions of the peninsula.

The bodega is in a listed building in Calle Pere Estruch, in the historic centre of Binissalem, which has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest as a historic-artistic site. The stone construction of the building is one of the features that characterise the municipality.
