Xarcuteria Creus
The story of Xarcuteria Creus begins in the village of Santa Maria, where the grandfather of Toni Creus, the current owner, had a grocery shop in the old days.
In the post-war period, his father Pedro Creus Ferrer would go to the Consell slaughterhouses by bicycle, which was the only dowry he had received from his family. Then, at 4.00 in the morning, he would travel to Palma with the goods he had bought, to sell them at the Avenidas market. Afterwards, he would return to Santa Maria where he ran a grocery shop with his wife Jacinta Vidal, which they left behind when they moved to Palma.
In 1951 they set up in the market in the Plaza Mayor in Palma, and later moved to the newly opened Mercado del Olivar. It was here that they changed their business to sell sausages and cheeses.
Toni Creus started working there when he was very young and he is still there today, in charge of the stall in the Olivar. Nowadays the business has specialised a lot and they have a wide range of sausages and other products, focusing almost exclusively on the end customer. They are a benchmark in the market for their quality and customer service.
In the stall you can see the wide range of products they offer on display, with the hams hanging at the back of the counter sta.
