Xarcuteria La Preferida

Like many other businesses in Palma, Xarcuteria La Preferida also began in the Plaza Mayor market, where it sold foodstuffs, especially chickpeas.

Years later, Margalida Bosch Valero, aunt of Catalina Bosch Rebasa and mother of the current owners Felip and Juana Maria Coll Bosch, took over. When Margalida moved the business to the Mercado del Olivar in 1951, the stall focused on selling cold meats and cheeses.

The third generation then took over, consisting of Catalina Bosch Rebasa and Felip Coll Oliver, who consolidated the shop’s specialisation in select products.

Today, their children Felip and Juana María continue to run the business in the market. In addition to their regular sales, they manage orders and prepare customised platters for all kinds of events.
