Xurreria Rosaleda
Francesc Bonnín and Dolors Fàbrega founded Xurreria Rosaleda in the 1940s, where, together with their children, they sold doughnuts, toffee apples, dried fruit and, later on, churros. They were regular sellers at the Fira del Ram and Ciutadella’s festivals. During the Civil War, they moved to Barcelona under the name of Xurreria Imperial.
In 1966, they set up the Xurreria Rosaleda at its current location, on the coast of La Pols, where they sold churros, doughnuts and other typical Mallorcan products, such as quartos and ensaimadas, all of which were handmade. Years later, it became a chocolate shop; they expanded the premises and served chocolate, coffees, ice creams and more.
Nowadays, Joan Ferrer, Antònia Gelabert, granddaughter of the founders, and now also their son Xavier, the third and fourth generation of the family, respectively, continue to sweeten their customers’ days with chocolate, quartos, ensaimadas and fine portions of churros with sugar that maintain the original recipe of their ancestors. The quality of its products has made it one of the most renowned chocolate shops in Palma.
