Armería Balanzat

The Balanzat Armoury opened in 1968 on Paseo de Vara de Rey by brothers Ramón, Jaime and José Balanzat Planells. It is a family business that has always specialised in the sale of weapons for hunting and sports. Currently, the second generation, Ramón Balanzat Escandell, José’s son, is in charge of the business and continues to maintain the building built in 1939.

As for the changes in the commercial areas of the city, the shops have been moving to other streets that offer better premises. However, the commercial activity of Paseo de Vara de Rey, where the Balanzat Armoury is located, continues to be alive in its own way in a diverse landscape where the new and the old, the sophisticated and the traditional, intermingle.

The fact that the Armoury opened in 1968 means that it has seen a wide range of familiar faces and illustrious characters.
