Colchoneria Verd

When Clemente Verd opened his shop in 1934 on Carrer dels Oms, he lived with his wife on the premises. While she sold fabrics, he was responsible for the woollen mattresses, which he collected from customers’ homes to stretch, undo, fill, and sew.

Over the years, the business has had to change with the times, moving on from wool mattresses to spring mattresses, divan storage beds and made-to-measure foam, in which it currently specialises.

In 1998, Luís Enrique Carrillos, the grandson of the owner, Clemente, took over the running of the business. This small establishment, full of foam and cushions, continues to serve a loyal clientèle who appreciate the personal, friendly service that has been a distinguishing feature of the Verd family business since the day it opened.
