Medias Casa Fubor

In 1943, José Fuster and Joana Borràs founded Casa Fubor, their first shop, which they opened in Carrer de la Pescateria Vella with their daughter-in-law Cosma as the shop assistant. The name of the establishment comes from the fusion of the surnames of the two founders. The exclusive sale of stockings and underwear earned them an important regular clientele.

Years later, in 1967, the second shop was opened on Carrer de Pare Bartomeu Pou, where they are currently located. For a while they kept both premises open, but in 2006 they closed the shop on Calle de La Pescateria.

Joana Maria Fuster, the current owner and third generation of the family, has worked there since she was 15 years old, where she has experienced the personalised service offered to each customer. Today, Casa Fubor also sells pyjamas and dressing gowns, among other underwear.

Casa Fubor still retains the interior furnishings from the 1960s. It is one of the few remaining haberdasheries in Palma, meaning that it is a repository of a traditional commercial model of retail and local trade.
