Ferreteria Can Comas

The Can Comas hardware store is run by Paula Cervera Comas, the third generation of the family.

Around 1954, Antoni Comas set up the establishment we know today. At the beginning it was a household goods shop, and even sold toys. Eventually it became a hardware store. The shop stocked all kinds of articles for blacksmiths, carpenters and farm workers, as well as drugstore articles.

In the early 1970s, Paula’s grandfather bought the whole building for construction work, as they had previously been renting it. In the meantime, they moved to another location and, once the renovation was finished, they moved back to the same premises.

In 1994, Paula Comas, of the second generation, became the owner of the business, in which she had already been working, together with her father and her husband, Fernando Cervera. In 2004, her daughter Paula started working in the business. At that time the business had already come to be specialised in iron fittings for the wood and iron sector, and was run by Paula and Fernando, although Antoni continued to give advice on everything he could.

In 2007, they lost Fernando and in 2008 Antoni, both of whom had been pillars of the company. Paula Cervera took over the business at the time, not an easy one due to the subsequent crisis.

With great enthusiasm, she now runs the hardware store with one employee. She offers a local service to the carpenters and blacksmiths of the region and other sectors such as construction, and also to small consumers, supplying them with everything they need.
