S’Hort Nou

S’Hort Nou began its activity in 1965, in the old Ibosim building, when Joan Bonet and Pepa, with their son Pepe, began to sell the products of the S’Hort Nou estate, of which they were the farm managers.

In 1975 Pepe expanded the shop and started selling general groceries. Three years later, due to his parents’ age, he went into partnership with Josep Lluís Prats.

The most critical moment for the establishment was in May 1984, when, due to the collapse of a staircase roof, the building was declared a ruin from one day to the next. This event meant that Lluís and Pepe had to look for another location. In December 1986 they opened the shop in Vicent Serra street, and in March 1990 they opened the current S’Hort Nou, in Gaspar Puig street, very close to the old shop.

In 2003 they dissolved the company. Lluís kept the establishment in Vicent Serra street and changed the name of the shop to S’Hort Vei de Sempre.

Pepe Bonet stayed at the shop on Gaspar Puig until he retired in 2016 and handed over the business to the two oldest shop assistants who have been working at S’Hort Nou for more than 25 years, Lali Tur and Fina Tur, who currently run it. Both try to maintain the essence of the shop, with a clear commitment to local products and a family atmosphere.

It is a grocery shop, nowadays a supermarket, which is open all year round and sells products from Ibiza such as fruit, vegetables, honey, eggs, cheese, sobrassada, wine, liqueurs, flaó, orelletes and all kinds of quality products.
